Professor & Head

Dr. Sudershan Kapoor completed his MBBS (1978) from GNDU, Amritsar, and his MS (1989) in Surgery at GNDU, Amritsar

Currently he is Professor & Head of Department of Surgery at SGRD, Amritsar.

Dr Manjit Singh Uppal completed his MBBS (1988) from GNDU, Amritsar, and his MS (1993) in Surgery at GNDU, Amritsar

Currently he is Professor of Department of Surgery at SGRD, Amritsar.

 

Professor

Dr. Rana Ranjit Singh did MBBS (1994) from Government Medical College, Amritsar and MS (1998) in General Surgery from Government Medical College, Patiala. Presently, he is Professor of Surgery at SGRD.

 He has attended more than 20 National Conferences and has chaired sessions, and is Honorary Finance Secretary of Surgeon’s Society of Amritsar from 2016 onwards. He has been appointed Examiner in many Undergraduate and Postgraduate Examinations. He has 14 International and National Publications in indexed journals.

Dr. Rana Ranjit Singh is Fellow of International College of Surgeons. He is Life Member of several Societies/Associations, including Indian Medical Association, Life Member of Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, Association of Surgeons of India and Association of Breast surgeons of India.

 He has special interest in hepatobiliary and minimal access surgery. 

 

Professor

Dr. Gopal Swaroop Bhargava did MBBS (1993) and MS (1997) in General Surgery from PGIMS Rohtak, Haryana. He is presently Professor of General Surgery at SGRDIMSR.

He received certified training in Laparoscopic Surgeries at Global Hospital, Hyderabad and attended a certificate course in Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy and ERCP in Gastroenterology at Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, Faridabad. He has done Basic course in Medical Education and Technologies at MCI regional centre, Ludhiana.

Dr. Bhargava has around 20 national and international publications. He has attended many conferences and chaired sessions.             

He has special interest in Oncological Procedures

Dr. Arun Kumar Gupta completed his MBBS (2000) from Calcutta Univ, and his MS (2007) in Surgery at U. West Bengal Health

Currently he is Professor of Department of Surgery at SGRD, Amritsar.

 

Professor

Dr. Mohit Sharma did his MBBS (1997) from GMC, Amritsar and MS (2001) in General Surgery from GMC, Patiala. He did DNB (2010) Surgical Gastroenterology from Lakeshore Hospital, Kochi and has the honor of being the first qualified Surgical Gastroenterologist in Amritsar. In 2019 he was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of American College of Surgeons (FACS).

He has undergone training in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Liver transplantation & Hepato-pancreatico biliary surgery at ASAN Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea, and Bariatric Leadership Initiative in Surgical Skills, Virinchi Hospital, Hyderabad.

Dr. Sharma has been invited as resource person and speaker in multiple national and international conferences: ASI- Northern chapter conference, 2015 at Tanda, GISICON 2015 at Jammu, 47th AMASI Skill course and FMAS Examination 2017 CMC, Ludhiana, GI Masterclass conference 2015,17,18 at Bangalore, AMASICON, 2019 at Nagpur, and ESOINDIA 2020 at Sri Ramchandra Institute, Chennai.

He has authored a chapter ‘Endocrine and Metabolic response to Surgery and Trauma’ in a textbook ’Surgical Gastroenterology’ which has now become a standard textbook. In addition, he has 6 international and 10 national Publications in indexed journals.He is life Member of Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology (IASG), Association of Minimal Access Surgery of India (AMASI), Association of Surgical Society of Alimentary Tract, USA (SSAT).

He has special interest in minimally invasive hepato-pancreatico-biliary and gastrointestinal tract oncosurgery.

Dr. Gurpreet Singh Bhangu completed his MBBS (2000) from BFUHS, Faridkot, and his MS (2005) in Surgery at BFUHS, Faridkot

Currently he is Professor of Department of Surgery  at SGRDIMSR, Amritsar.

 

Associate Professor

Dr. Darpan Bansal did MBBS (2004) from Government Medical College Amritsar in and MS (2009) in General Surgery, from SGRDIMSR. Presently, she is Associate Professor of General Surgery at SGRDIMSR. She has done fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery and is also trained in ultrasound of abdomen and gynae from Institute of Ultrasound Training, Delhi. She is a certified trainer of American Heart Association BLS and ACLS courses.

 She has attended more than 30 International and National Conferences and has chaired sessions. She has been appointed as evaluator for BDS and External Examiner in BSc OTT examination.

Dr Bansal has more than 20 International and 2 National Publications in indexed journals.

She is Life Member of several Societies/Associations, including Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, Sonological Society of India, Association of Surgeons of India. Association of Breast Surgeons of India, Canadian Association of General Surgeons and  International Federation of Fertility Societies.

She has special interest in breast and laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Pardeep Bhatia completed his MBBS (2003) from Rajasthan U, and his MS (2009) in Surgery at BFUHS, Faridkot, M.Ch (Paed. Surgery) (2013) from Gujarat Univ.

Currently he is Associate Professor of Department of Surgery  at SGRD, Amritsar.

Dr. Seema Mittal completed her MBBS (1998) from Dr. MGRM, and her MS (2006) in Surgery at NBE, N.Delhi, DNB (Plastic Surgery) (2013) from NBE, N.Delhi

Currently she is Associate Professor of Department of Surgery  at SGRD, Amritsar.

Currently he is Assistant Professor of Department of Surgery  at SGRD, Amritsar.

Dr. Abhinav Mahajan did MBBS (2009) and MS (2014) in General Surgery from GMC Patiala. He did Mch (2018) in Surgical Oncology from BJ Medical College Ahmedabad where he worked in Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute. He is presently Assistant Professor of General Surgery at SGRDIMSR.

He is the first Mch cancer surgeon of the region. He has performed more than 850 cancer surgeries which include cancer surgeries of Head and Neck, Breast, Gastrointestinal system, Genitourinary system, Gynaecological and Musculoskeletal system.

Dr Mahajan has attended more than 20 National Conferences and has chaired sessions in various conferences. He has attended many live surgeries and cadaveric workshops. He has more than 10 National and International publications and is a reviewer in many national journals.

 He is a life member of Association of Surgeons of India, Indian Association of Surgical Oncology and Association of Breast Surgeons of India.

 He has special interest in Robotic Oncosurgery, Minimal Invasive Cancer Surgery and Oncoplastic Breast Surgery.

Dr. Vijay Kumar completed his MBBS (2014) from BFUHS, Faridkot, and his MS (2012) in Surgery at BFUHS, Faridkot, M.CH, Urology Surgery (2018)

Currently he is Assistant Professor of Department of Surgery  at SGRD, Amritsar.
