Department of Pharmacology

Department of Pharmacology, envisions to be a centre of excellence and a leader in medical education, innovative research, evidence based clinical care training. The faculty is committed to foster mentorship and guidance in medical education to budding doctors. The department aims to develop and equip students with a concrete foundation in basic and clinical pharmacology and therapeutic applications. It strives to promote the rational use of medicines, ICH-GCP guidelines, encourage pharmacovigilance activities and participate in research. The Department of Pharmacology has been a major constituent of medical education for PhD, MD, MBBS, BDS, and Paramedical course students such as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and various BSc allied health sciences courses. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that students from a diverse range of healthcare fields are equipped with a solid understanding of pharmacology and its applications. The ultimate aim of the department is to develop the Department as a center of excellence for safety and efficacy assessment of medicines and contribute to the development of our country through our expertise, and participate in government and community organizations or activities related to Pharmacology, Toxicology and pharmacotherapy.
